fine art picture

The objects that i see are wasted food and facts about famine. The objects in the picture itself are close up to show what "Americans" are doing. This picture is figurative because its providing both pictures and facts on whats happening worldwide. Also showing how selfish Americans are about food. The pictures within the pictures are in focus to give a clear message to the viewers. All the pictures are outdoors because that's where you can see all the thrown away food. This picture to me is very successful in conveying the message that a lot of people are not concerned about others in starving countries. This is a piece that i am proud to have made because it shows the problems of America.

2010 still life

The objects that I are an ipod and ear-phones, and are close. I cant tell if the picture is either figurative or abstract. The shapes that I see are rectangles from the ipod and the boxes to help advertise them. The tones are a bit dark because it helps to make you want to buy an ipod. The image is in focus because I dont like out of focus pictures. The picture is both light and dark to help make you want to buy an ipod. In my opinion the picture is successful to make the viewers want an ipod.

2010 show

The objects that I see are a landscape in the background and a girl that looks lonely. The work is figurative because Jasmyn looks sad and looks as if shes going to do something bad. The tones that I see are on Jasmyn's Face because she looks pure. But when you look at her expression shes sad. Also the darkness surrounding her makes it seem that way also. But when you look at the background it seems bright also, as if shes having second thoughts on what shes thinking. The image is in focus because I dont really like the way most images look when they are out of focus. The image is both dark and light because I want to show a symbolic struggle in Jasmyn. I chose to take it outdoors to give a natural feeling to the picture. To me personally I do think the picture is successful in conveying the message I want the viewers to see.

portrait assignment 2

The objects that I can see are the background, it appears to be at a mid-distance. Also the work in my opinion is figurative, because Nicole looks pure compared to the darkness surrounding the portrait. The tones that i chose to convey that she looks pure compared to her surroundings are bright tones, but then I also had to fix the shadowing because it came out too bright. The model (Nicole) is in focus, but her background is not because it is another factor that helps with her looking and appearing pure on kind. The image is only light on the model but as it starts to recede to the edges, it gets dark. It symbolizes that people can stand out in any crowd as long as they are themselves, and this can be shown in any person or picture. I chose for this picture to be taken outside to give it a natural feeling, because it would not feel or look right. It would not look right, because i prefer to have natural light, instead of going through all the trouble of fixing and moving all the equipment in a cramped room rather doing it outside with a lot of space. This work is successful because it does convey my reasons of Nicole looking pure and kind and it should deserve at least an 8 if not better.

portrait assignment 1

This picture is for my contract assignment, this picture is a portraits of my friend Jennifer. The objects that I is the background, I chose for it to be at a moderate distance to make Jennifer look as if shes bigger than life. This picture to me seems to be figurative because it shows her as a girl who can take on anything. The tones of this picture are dark to help convey the reason that I previously stated. This picture is in focus, but its like this because personally it looks better that way. I chose to make this picture dark, but its only in the background. I did this to show that she stands out from her surroundings. It personally looks great if not perfect. I chose to take the picture outdoors to help convey that she is different because the clothing, the way shes standing, and the fact she looks tough. To me this picture deserves at least an 8, but thats my opinion.

location Hunting!!!!

In this picture I see a bush of flowers and a girl(Jasmyn) and the objects are close and is figurative. The composition of the picture seems to be layed out perfectly and the tones of the picture seems to be in the afternoon to give a warm feeling. The picture is in focus to help give a warm feeling along with the lighting. I this picture I am trying to show the audience that any location is beautifull if you just know where to find it. I gave this picture a light but warm feeling, to help show the reflection of light bouncing off her skin. In my opinion I would give this picture al least a 6 and a 1/2, but thats my opinion.

Tear Sheet

In this picture I see a foreground, and I also see a shoe creating a focal point toward the middle of the picture. To me this picture seems to be figurative because it has a humain feeling. The way this picture is composed i s to make your eyes go to the focal point in the middle. The tones of this picture also help by giving it a warm feeling because of how dark it gets towards the edges. In this picture I wanted to convey to the audience how people live in everyday life, but mostly studenst because I was limited on where my locations of taking pictures were. To me this picture is successful because of how its layed out, how the lighting was done and more so I would give this picture at least a 7 and a 1/2 out of 10.
